In 1995, vocalist Aaron Lewis, guitarist Mike Mushok, drummer Jon Wysocki, and bassist Johnny April founded the rock band Staind. Korn, Pearl Jam, Tool, and Rage Against the Machines were all performed by the band. They released their debut album, “Tormented,” in 1996, followed by “Dysfunction” in 1999, all of which included lyrics inspired by Lewis’s life and hits “Mudshovel,” “Just Go,” and “Home.”
“Break the Cycle,” Staind’s most successful album, showed up at number one on the Billboard 200 in 2001. “It’s Been Awhile,” the album’s first hit, became their best-known tune. “14 Shades of Grey,” Staind’s 2003 album, also appeared at number one, with smash songs “Price to Play” and “So Far Away.” With the popular song “Right Here,” Staind’s 2005 album “Chapter V” became their third consecutive number-one album on the Billboard 200.
The rock band Staind released “The Illusion of Progress” in 2008 and “The Self-titled Album” in 2011.
